#GivingTuesday is a movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world.
It can also be overwhelming, both from a donor’s perspective and from the perspective of over-worked nonprofit staff trying to compete in a sea of sameness:
That’s why I loved this day after GivingTuesday email from one of my favorite nonprofits, long-time subscriber, BAGLY.
The Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, is a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization, committed to social justice and creating, sustaining, and advocating for programs, policies, and services for the LGBTQ+ youth community.
Over the course of ten years, under the leadership of their Director of Development & Marketing, Kurtlan Massarsky (he/him), BAGLY has grown from a $600k organization to $2.6 million.
Their recent non-GivingTuesday email thanks their donors for their support. They note that despite not participating in the annual day of giving, their supporters stepped up and they raised $70,000.
“Thank you for always being there for LGBTQ+ youth, regardless of what hashtag-day it may be.”
Good job, Michael Fasano-McCarron!
