Internationally renowned copywriter Tom Ahern contributed this control piece for Sharp HealthCare Foundation. Tom says:
“Not a small org. But a DM control for my client, Sharp. In a couple of years, this elicited more than 10,000 gifts. I show it to my workshops a lot, asking them first before I reveal the results, “What do you like or not like about this?” I want them to see that successful DM might not look at all like they imagine. That it can seem awkward at first glance, with tiny paragraphs (meant to improve skimmability). That it doesn’t even have to tell much of a story (though there is a very personal story here of the recipient’s ill-to-health journey, covered in the first few lines).”
