Is #GivingTuesday worth the hoopla?
I’m hearing it from readers and clients alike: what should we be doing for #GivingTuesday? Tuesday, December 2 marks the third annual #GivingTuesday, a manufactured holiday created to inspire action around charitable giving.
I’ll be real with you: I’m not advising clients (or you) to spend a lot of time on #GivingTuesday. Why? Your time is limited (especially now at year-end), and my focus – and yours – should be on long-term funding success, not gimmicks.
Do you seriously need yet another distraction?
I’m all about getting the right things done, and you should be too. Smart fundraising means understanding of what is absolutely essential — and then eliminating everything that isn’t.
But hey I don’t want to be a Scrooge and spoil the fun :). If you want to participate, be prepared! These two posts will show you how:
